Critical Thinking Series

Critical thinking is a vital and foundational 21st century skill. It facilitates the development of other 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration, empathy, creative thinking and more.

Participation in our Critical Thinking Series ensures that your students learn to explain and justify their thinking at an advanced level. They also develop important virtues such as the ability to predict, analyse and evaluate other points of view, and the humility to change their view based on the quality of reasons and evidence offered by others.

The following programs have been co-designed with experts in the field. Your students' critical thinking skills will be explicitly developed, and enhanced through the intersection of critical thinking with media literacy, entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy.

University of Queensland partnership

The IMPACT Centre is a very important and long-term partner of the University of Queensland Critical Thinking Project (UQCTP). The UQCTP and IMPACT teams have collaborated to co-design highly successful critical thinking programs delivered to over 10,000 primary and secondary school students across Queensland since 2012. These programs have resulted in improved critical thinking skills, transfer of these skills to general classroom learning and increased relative gains for students in NAPLAN literacy and numeracy assessments.
